Dropbox, Our Fifteen Minutes
We are honored to be recognized by Dropbox as a successful business built on hard work, creative thinking and smart technology choices. Working at the forefront of design in the San Francisco market has pushed us to develop a toolkit that is flexible, intuitive and technology forward. Dropbox is an integral part of our daily operations, and has allowed us to scale in a way that was previously unavailable to a company of our size. Using the right tools allows us to focus on collaboration rather than infrastructure, and to realize the balance of both a high quality of life and work.
Light is What We Do
We enjoyed being interviewed by Italian lighting design magazine Luce in December by Andrew Peterson. Luce focuses on Italian, as well as the International lighting design communities and features articles on design, architecture, and innovations in the field. We talk about what inspired us to start lighting and what makes us unique as PritchardPeck Lighting. The article is available on their website at Luce Web and be sure to check out the full interview in their digital magazine: Luce Digitale!
Meet the Designers: Kylie Gabbard
Kylie began her career at PritchardPeck Lighting in 2012 as the team’s first designer, and now with her 8 years of experience she brings excellent design ideas and management capabilities to our residential projects as well as an unparalleled fashion inspiration to our office.
Where did you grow up/cities you’ve lived in? It’s actually a trade secret that I was raised in the OC of Southern California. Luckily, living in Paris and then almost 10yr in New York got rid of the tan and weeded out any clothes that weren’t black.
A Mid-Market Transformation
Transforming the abandoned Strand Theater into a stunning stage for San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theater demanded all the elements of great drama: creativity, honesty, passion, risk. Lighting design performed multiple roles, from public engagement to the enhancement of modern architectural forms inside a century-old shell. Challenged by structural and historical constraints, the pressures of a high-profile project, and a nonprofit budget of only $8 per square foot, the lighting team scrutinized and perfected each fixture over three years. The resulting solution champions integrity and transparency over concealment and artifice, celebrating The Strand’s gritty past and its bold future.
Reinventing the theater experience
Our team has been working with Dolby Laboratories and WRNS Studio on adapting the same technology created at their Dolby Cinema in Los Angeles to debut at their corporate flagship location in San Francisco. This new concept of the Dolby theater experience integrates the perfect blend of video, audio, industrial design and neuroscience. Take a peak into the project see what we’ve been working on!
